Sarah Palin Fails To Keep Her Word

So why would we want to trust her as a VP?  Governor Palin said several times while running for the Governor's job that she was not going to move, or help move, the Capital.  She may not be moving the Capital herself, but she certainly isn't doing anything to stop it from being moved.  Now she says it's up to the Legislature and they've asked her to stay out of their way.  Excuse me, but isn't the Governor's first priority supposed to be doing what is best for Alaskans?  I don't mean just the ones up north where she hails from...ALL Alaskans!  If the legislature moves to some fancy new building, then the Capital itself won't be far behind.  If the Capital moves, the economy in Juneau and the rest of Southeast will be decimated, the tourists will stop coming in because there won't be anything to see or do because of the number of businesses that will have had to shut down.

I helped vote Sarah Palin into office, although John Binkley would have been better.  I hate to say this...but even Tony Knowles might have at least done his job as Governor and protected the livelihood of all of us here in Southeast, especially Juneau.

Aside from my feelings on this particular matter though...Gov. Palin would not make a good VP.  She may be the "Hottest" Governor in the USA...but she doesn't have anywhere near enough experience to be a VP.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as VEEP - YUK!!

You’ve got to be kidding.  Sarah Palin as U. S. Vice President!  Let's see, she has been Mayor of a small town and Governor for a year of a very small state -  population wise.  Being a heartbeat away from the Presidenticy, I'd be afraid of her dealing with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about Iranian nuclear policy, or Kim Jong-il, the “Great Leader” of North Korea. How would she get along with a Democratic congress?  She can't even get along with her own Republican party in the state legislature.  As a long time Alaskan, I can say she is vastly over rated.  We’re just finding that out in Alaska.

Sarah Palin as Vice Pres: NO WAY

No. I don’t think Sarah Palin would make a good vice presidential candidate. As she is proving in our state of Alaska she is a divider, not a uniter.  Sarah Palin is behind the move to move our state capital from Juneau to Anchorage Alaska even though this will devastate the families of southeast Alaska.   Many people will lose their homes, jobs, entire life’s savings; families will be torn apart all because of moving the capital.  The people of Alaska have voted down moving the capital time and time again. This issue is being pushed again by only a few legislators and she is behind it 100%. These people all knew before taking office where the meetings were held.  Moving the capital is not worth destroying people’s lives over. There is a movement across this country to end this type of leadership.  People want to trust their governments again and to have hope. She is part of the old Republican style of leadership that takes hope away from people. There are other issues that the people of our state have voted down time and time again and she has gone against the majority vote.  Like hunting wolves from air planes, this has been voted down on more than one occasion by the people of Alaska and when she first took office she put a BOUNTY on wolves. She is behind the plans to club wolf cubs and bears cubs when they first leave their dens in the spring time, this is cruel.  She does not even support the science behind global warming and is against listing the polar bear on the endangered species list.  What child wants to study math or science when it apparently means nothing to do so anyway. We can’t afford to have people in public office that pooh-pooh our global warming crisis. Its wrong to dismiss global warming and to put a spin on the science to confuse people.  This is not the kind of leadership people want anymore.   Sarah Palin aligns herself with Ted Stevens and Don Young, these two are part of the old cronies that have pushed us into the energy crisis that we are in today, by supporting the oil industries and pooh-poohing the need to develop alternative energy sources all these years.

People across the country are screaming that they don’t want this type of leadership anymore, they want change!  We want things to be done the right way for the right reasons.  Can you even imagine Barack Obama  or Hillary Clinton making and supporting decisions that destroy communities?  I can't.  We want change even in Alaska, Sarah.
